What a fabulous person. She always made me feel good to just be in her presence. Her mother was our Senior Girl Scout Leader in our Junior High days. I salute you Helen, with much Love!
Seeing your name in print always sparks many happy memories of our times together!
Happy Birthday! Looking back at my B-day Pics, you are always there!
Well said Perry, understood.
Sharon, welcome to the Tribe of Will Rogers High School! Blessings!

Hi Donna and Greetings from the Pacific N.W. I almost forgot it was my birthday on the 29th of March, because I had a procedure on my back. That meant son Joe, came over from Seattle, to take me, oversee all my care going, coming home and recuperation. However, He reminded me that indeed, it was my birthday and asked me how I wanted to celebrate. I said: how 'bout Mexican take out! He said....you got it!
It was a beautiful day, with Mount Rainier and Mount Baker (both active volcanoes) sporting new snow! Nature put on a great day for me and we reveled in the beauty of Gods' world that is lovingly leased to us humans.
Info. on the picture of the group of gals on Philbrook. I think, (but don't know sure) that it was a promotional click of the Round Up Models, advertising the upcoming round up? I don't know that for sure. I had totally forgotten about that. So, if somebody knows for sure, please correct me.
I am still living life to the fullest, looking for ways to have a good giggle or guffaw and continuing my walking each day at least two miles and my goal per day is 5 miles.
Salute to the class of 1958 and may we continue to celebrate life wherever we are in all moments of the day!
Birthday Blessings Marilyn! Celebrate!

Hi Gary: glad to hear you are enjoying retirement. I remember those Oklahoma days of winter and longing for that "green" look again.
Here in the Pacific Northwest, we are green all year long and I have even had to have my lawn mowed twice...already! The Olympic Peninsula is a special place in my heart with Port Townsend having views from anywhere of water, the Cascade Mtn. range and the Olympic Mtn. range. I spend as much time out of doors as possible, even in the winter months. Believe it or not we have less rain here in P.T. than anywhere in Oklahoma.
However, I will always miss the area around Tulsa and the awakening of spring and how my eyes used to "gulp" in the lovely green.
Have a great summer, with blessings for wellness for you and your family.
Our Band of Will Roger Ropers of 1958 is shrinking and now Bette Lee Jones is part of that Heavenly Tribe.
Bette Lee and I grew up together in the same church, went to church camp together in our Junior and Senior high school years and in general, caused a lot of fun mayhem. She and I spent a lot of time together horseback riding, with her being the teacher and me being a very willing student, wanting to learn all I could about equines, etc. We more than once got into trouble wherever we were, playing practical jokes on each other and other not so appreciative individuals! She had such a tender heart for all creatures and critters and went way out of her way to give comfort and support to all in the animal and human world.
Zany and loving was Bette Lee Jones and I will always love and miss her! She and I reconnected in 2010 at our 50th class reunion. She invited me to stay with her for 3 days during that time. Every night after the activities of those days, we sat in the middle of my bed, giggling and reminiscing past days, etc. It was a few years after 2010 that I suddenly stopped hearing from her and heard that she was suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. I am all too familiar with that disease, and let her be at peace wherever her brain could find it without me trying to get her to remember what her brain had already forgotten.
To Bette Lee, I Salute You with Love and to her caregivers and family.....I understand about the "longest goodbye ever!"
Thank you Roper friends for reaching out to me on my Birthday. As I am now a family of one, hearing from you means a lot. So, I am now 80 years old! Funny, as a teenager, I thought being 80 years was really old. Well, now I know being 80 years old is exactly that!
