I notice that there is no menu item for my elementary school which was Bryant. It was in what had formerly been Dawson prior to it being annexed by Tulsa in the late 1940s. On my way to and from school, I walked by the Spartan trailer factory.  In the parking lot was J. Paul Getty's underground bomb shelter.

We lived northwest of the Admiral Twin. Mom worked at Spartan. I used to walk up Sheridan to the Air National Guard Base and watch the troops drill on their weekends. If I was lucky, I might get to see some fighter planes taxying. I was about twelve at the time.

Ah lived on ten acres at Apache & Harvard which was Dawson at tha time from '42-44.  Used to walk to tha store in Dawson, pulled my little brother in mah wagon--mom wood carry him home an ah wood pull groceries. We lived in a three room shack on an oil lease, no 'lectricity, an we got water from nabors well--but, we did have natural gas livin on tha lease-- mah dad worked graveyard shift on Tulsa police dept.an mah mom wuz scared to death  tha whole time, jus sayin, Rex
