Maybe my surname is not Holloway

It was interesting, to say the least, of the results of my brother's DNA testing back in 2007.  I know that some of my classmates knew him.  Robert W. Holloway, Class of 1956 WRHS.  Yes, he did play football. He was good looking too, so I hear.  He did the DNA Y testing for males, not the autosomal.  What my sister. Mary Lee Holloway Allen, Class of 1959, found out to our dismay is that our surname really isn't Holloway.  How's that for all the genealogy buffs out there?  He didn't match the Holloways at all. The name he matched with was Sanders/Saunders.  Whoa! My sister and I are still working on this because we have not made a connection yet and it's been 10 years.  I consider my sister the wizard genealogist, not me.  We will not give up on hoping to find the answer.

For those who might not know, my brother passed away October 15, 2008, not too long after the 50th anniversary of our class reunion.

What a story, Nancy! Yes maummm, all of us who work on our family trees....(Genealogy), do know there are many mysteries, surprises, etc. when it comes to researching the tree. That is what makes it truly addictive.  Finding the info to complete the stories! It never ends though, does it?

Will be so exciting to find out your info!  So do keep us posted.  Also, Bobby Potts has found that he is in the same situation.  Maybe Bobby will jump on and send in his new info!

My my what stories we find out when we go snooping around. I did the Y-DNA test and found out that I'm not a Potts but a Sessions. Do not know where the switch took place yet but we are still looking.

I first took the Y-DNA 37 and then the Y-DNA 111 and I'm 100% match to Sessions. There is a lady who manages the Arley Sessions acount and I have emailed her back and forth several times.

If you all remember our folks grew up in the Roaring 20 and 30s. That was some wild times for kids back then.

We first thought it might be back in that time that the switch took place so my brother took the Y-DNA 37 and he came back Sessions also so we have not figured out yet where it happened.

As old Yogi would  say " It ain't over till its over" we are still looking.

Nancy, I would have your son take the DNA test.....he will show both the Mother's and Father's side....I am sure that you have already done this, huh?
